As a Navajo photographer, I am always overjoyed when asked to capture the essence of our culture We’re suffering hard at the moment due to COVID-19. At a time in which we’re losing so many of our elders who encompass our culture, language and beliefs, it’s empowering to photograph the next generation of our people, embracing our culture. The sweet Tsosie family is anticipating the arrival of their son in just a short couple months. I was so fortunate to capture these stunning portraits at the beautiful Riparian Preserve in Gilbert, Arizona.
